How the reading works
- The deck
- All 78 cards of the classic 1909 deck drawn by Pamela Colman Smith: 22 Major Arcana for life's larger themes, and 56 Minor Arcana in four suits for everyday matters.
- Shuffle, cut, draw
- As a reader would at the table: the deck is shuffled, you cut it, and the cards are spread for you to draw. Cards can turn in the shuffle, so each may land upright or reversed.
- Reversed cards
- A reversed card carries the same energy, but blocked, delayed or turned inward.
- The suits
- Wands (Fire) speak of work and drive, Cups (Water) of feelings and relationships, Swords (Air) of thoughts and conflict, Pentacles (Earth) of money, health and home.
- Yes or no
- Each card leans yes, no or not yet. A reversed card softens the answer by one step.
