Should you ask a question?
A question focuses the reading. The cards are the same; what changes is the lens they are read through.
- Yes or no
- Needs one clear question, such as “Should I take the job in Pune?”
- Three card and love
- Need a question too. Ask what you want guidance on, such as “What should I know about my career this year?”
- One card
- No question needed. Draw it in the morning as your card of the day; it stays the same until midnight.
How a reading works
- 1
Ask your question
Type what you want guidance on. Choose love or career if you want the reading focused there.
- 2
Shuffle
The deck is shuffled fresh for you. Cards can turn in the shuffle, which is how reversed cards appear.
- 3
Cut
Split the deck into three piles and pick the one that draws you. It is part of the ritual, and the cards for a question are set for the day.
- 4
Draw
All 78 cards are spread face down. Pick by feel, not by thought.
- 5
Turn and read
Turn the cards over one at a time and read each in its position, then the spread as a whole.

Questions about tarot
Does the tarot need a question?
Yes, for the yes or no, three card and love readings. The question gives the cards something to answer. Open questions work best: “What should I know about my career this year?” reads better than “Will I get rich?”. The one card reading is a card of the day and needs none.
What does a reversed card mean?
A card that lands upside down carries the same energy as upright, but blocked, delayed or turned inward. It is not automatically bad. A reversed Death, for example, often means resisting a change that is already happening.
How often can I ask the same question?
Once a day. Ask the same question again today and the same cards come up, because a reading is for sitting with, not for redrawing until you like the answer. Tomorrow the cards change, or ask something new.
Which deck do you use?
The classic 1909 deck drawn by Pamela Colman Smith: 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana in four suits. It is the deck most tarot books and readers learn from.
Is tarot the same as Vedic astrology?
No. Tarot reflects the moment you ask in. Vedic astrology reads your birth chart and the timing of your dashas and transits. For questions about when something will happen, ask Astex AI about your kundli.
Want timing from your birth chart?
Tarot reflects the moment. For when marriage, a job or a move is likely, Astex AI reads your kundli.
